The Maryland Lacrosse League (MDLL) was founded in 2019 by Colin Fagan of Edgewater Maryland with 8 adult men's teams playing in a fall league.  Colin's reason for founding the league was to provide a better experience and flexibility for local men's teams.

When covid hit in 2020 all life slowed. The men's league however not only survived but grew to 20 adult men's teams during the summer and fall league.

In 2021 the first major expansion for the MDLL occured with the creation of the college women's league, a high school fall league, the inaugural Christmas Classic Box Tournament but also the 3 high school teams that would compete year round under the MDLL Select name.  By now there were over 30 men's teams competing and membership of over 800 players.

Building on the strong success of the first three MDLL Select teams,  the 2022-2023 season will see an additional 3 MDLL select teams and one Diamondbacks PoweredUp team.

In 2022 the MDLL now hosts six tournaments a year and will be introducing the Deep Creek Lacrosse Tournament starting in summer 2023.

There are over 60 men's, 18 high school, and 12 women's teams competing in just the summer league, comprising over 2000 current players.

The MDLL believes in giving back to the community and has raised over $50,000 to support charities like Headstrong, onelove, Harlem Lacrosse, Shootout For Soldiers and MDA.  It will continue to host events that will provide charities a sense of hope and gratitude for what our program stands for.

Gameday sponsors of the MDLL are ECD Lacrosse, ProAthletics, Wonderfly Athletics, True Sports, USA Lacrosse and Rhoback to name a few.
